Lorevox helps older adults preserve life stories through calm conversation, a structured Life Map, and human-reviewed legacy tools—while keeping the narrator’s words, dignity, and choices at the center. It is an occupational-therapy-informed geriatric memory and life-story modality, in development.
Development status: Lorevox is not a public online app. It is a local research and development system being hardened through real family use.

A witness-centered approach
Listen first. Organize without taking over.
Lori is the conversational interface to Lorevox. She does not conduct a test or force a questionnaire. The oral-history default lets the narrator choose the chapter, pace, detail, and language.
Behind the conversation, Lorevox preserves the source, identifies provisional structure, and projects reviewed information into the Life Map, chronology, Travel Document, and memoir materials.

An accepted operator workspace for editable trip timelines, evidence review, photos, notes, and Word export.
Story capture
Meaningful narrator turns can become traceable story candidates for later human review and memoir use.
Memoir creation
Reviewed stories become a readable draft and a finished Word or plain-text document, each passage traceable to what was actually said.
Photo Palette
A working surface for a trip’s photographs: place one across several days, move or remove it from a single day, add captions, and set aside what still needs a home.
Chronology
Personal anchors, world context, trips, and approved photographs project into a shared historical structure.
English + Spanish
Local speech and voice services support English, Spanish, and natural code-switching.
Travel Document
A trip becomes an evidence-rich story, not a pile of files.
The visible trip timeline is the editable source of truth. Export creates a Word snapshot of that timeline—without a second hidden interpretation of what belongs.

Use EXIF dates, approved place context, OCR, image observations, captions, and labeled public research.

Create a Word document with days, photographs, narrator and Lori turns, and traceable source material.
Raw coordinates are not casually displayed. Place context becomes usable only after local/operator review.
Privacy and consent
Private by architecture—not by a vague promise.
Lorevox says what is stored, where processing happens, and which optional sensors are active.
Local-first reasoning
Speech recognition, the language model, and voice generation run on the narrator’s own machine.
Honest storage
Profiles, transcripts, photographs, documents, and memoir drafts are stored locally—not described as disappearing.
Voice by choice
Narrator audio is retained only after an explicit “Save my voice” choice. Lori’s generated audio is never archived.
Visible sensing
Camera, emotion cues, and location are optional, consented, and visibly on or off. There is no hidden surveillance.
Optional outside services, named
Three, all optional and all chosen deliberately: importing photographs from a Google Photos library, turning a photograph’s coordinates into a place name, and looking up public facts for travel research. Private memories are never sent out as the query.
Narrator-owned records
The operator and narrator own the records they create. Private family data stays outside the source repository.
Records can be removed completely
Deleting a narrator removes their files, photographs and transcripts as well as their database records—and reports honestly if anything could not be reached.

Hornelore
The private family R&D deployment where Lorevox behavior is tested against real use. It shares the architecture and code lineage; it is not a separate fork or public demo.
Lorevox
The generalized product direction supports arbitrary narrators. Current work is strengthening canonical narrator ownership across sessions, chronology, Lori, Life Map, and Travel Document.
Collaboration
Repository documentation and privacy boundaries are being cleaned for careful collaboration. Source access and contributions are by invitation—not through an open public fork.
Important: Lorevox is an OT-informed memory and life-story modality in development. It is not a diagnostic instrument, medical-record system, emergency monitor, or substitute for clinical care.
Built from occupational therapy
Christopher Horne, OTR/L
Christopher is a retired occupational therapist whose work spans nearly four decades across rehabilitation, behavioral health, pediatrics, schools, and family collaboration.
Lorevox grew from the stories he did not ask for soon enough and the needs he now sees while supporting his own aging parents. Occupational therapy shapes the core posture: meet the person where they are, support participation, protect dignity, and treat partial progress as real.
Human memory is primary. Lori is the interface. The narrator remains the author.
